I'll try most anything once

Yeah--the boys liked to hear me say that when I was younger.  Years have me a bit milder, but I still am a very action-based person.  If I dream up something, then I can't just talk about it--I have to DO it.  Fortunately, my imagination is a great limiter, and thus I managed to not dream up enough things to kill myself growing up.  For instance, now I will try writing a blog--at least once.
What do I have to offer that anyone wants to read?  Well, I've been married since I was 19.  I have 4 kids.  I have cared for a family of 4 on less than $20K in my life, and I have lived a priveleged suburban-based life as well.  I work in corporate america these days, and am raising my kids in that same suburban environment that I swore I would never do t my kids.  My marriage of 17 years has most recently benefitted from a separation and reconciliation.  I am currently taking graduate-level classes off and on.  I'll get a master's degree one of these days.  My husband works fulltime as a firefighter, and my kids remain pretty active.  I volunteer with my church and with girlscouting.  My attitiude is that I get a lot accomplished day-to-day, and I must have some kind of tips or reassurance to offer up to SOMEONE.
So what is it that I could really offer?  Well, for today my suggestion is to try something.  Are you thinking about taking the steps instead of the elevator at work today?  Just do it!  You thinking about cleaning your toilet today?  Just go do it!  Right now!  You'll be done in 15 minutes and the computer will still be there when you get back.
Oh, and it doesn't need to take 15 minutes to clean a toilet, by the way.  I have my toilet brush hanging on the side of my bowl (in one bathroom I have it sitting in an old small mixing bowl behind the bowl).  I keep a spray bottle and toilet cleaner and paper towels in the bathroom. Put toilet cleaner in the bowl, spray down the whole outside of the toilet (you have to open and close lid and seat to get it everywhere).  Use paper towels to wipe it off.  It takes 3 or 4 paper towels-start with the back of the bowl and the flush handle.  Then move to the lid and seat and that little spot behind the seat that collects nasties.  Then do the underside of seat and rim.  Finally, do the outside of the bowl and the very bottow.  Swipe the bowl with the brush, flush, and you are done.  5 minutes once you have everything in arms reach.
OK, this is my first blogging trial--I'll see how it works out for me and maybe I'll try it twice:)
